A UX Designer joining a “Front-End” conference is like a motorbike rider joining a gathering of bike riders. Both the motorcyclist and the cyclist wish to drive a handy and fancy vehicle that is also safe during bends and stable when braking. What I brought home from the front-end conference in 2016 in Zurich is a strong feeling that developers, designers, project managers, and unicorns chase each other to design and implement a smooth and frictionless user experience.

WHEN WE WILL STOP CALLING THEM PHONES?
A few days ago, I stumbled on Luke Wroblewski’s infographic showing the evolution of mobile phone usage. The graph shows that the main device feature (voice calls) is almost unused. His post was titled “When will we stop calling them phones?”
